Warranty & Aftercare Terms
Applies to all Blackwater-supplied kitchens and fitted interiors.
Kitchen Cabinetry & Worktops
We supply and install high-quality, pre-manufactured cabinetry built for longevity. All units are covered by a 10-year manufacturer warranty covering structural integrity — including joints, hinges, fixings, and shelves.
Painted finishes are professionally applied and designed for long-term durability. Minor wear and natural ageing may occur over time with use. Touch-up kits are available on request.
Worktop joins are guaranteed for structural integrity and finish. Solid timber worktops are supplied pre-finished in oil or lacquer; oiled tops require occasional reapplication. Stone and composite worktops are sealed and professionally installed. Natural materials like marble and granite may develop patina over time, which is considered part of their character. Care and maintenance guides are provided for all surfaces.
Supplied Appliances
All appliances provided by Blackwater are sourced from trusted brands and come with the full manufacturer warranty. Where applicable, we register appliances on your behalf.
While we do not offer a separate in-house appliance guarantee, we’re happy to assist with warranty documentation or direct you to manufacturer support. Care and usage information is included with each product.
Tiles & Floor Coverings
Where tiling or flooring is supplied and installed by us, it is covered by a 12-month installation warranty.
We work with trusted suppliers and experienced installers. Variations in tone and texture — particularly in handmade or natural stone tiles — are part of their aesthetic and are not defects.
Timber, vinyl, and composite flooring is laid in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications. Product warranties remain with the manufacturer, while our workmanship is covered for 12 months from completion.
Lighting & Electrical Work
All electrical installations are carried out by qualified, NICEIC-registered electricians in line with current UK building regulations.
Our installation workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months, covering wiring, socket placements, and integrated lighting. Any lighting supplied by Blackwater is backed by the manufacturer warranty (typically 1–5 years).
This warranty may be voided if the installation is altered, misused, or affected by third-party work after completion.
General Terms
Warranties apply only to Blackwater-supplied and fitted materials, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Damage due to misuse, water ingress, third-party interference, or neglect is not covered.
Issues must be reported in writing with photographic evidence where applicable.
Final sign-off confirms client acceptance. Any defects identified after sign-off will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Quotation Terms
1. Quote Validity
All quotes are valid for 30 days from the issue date and subject to change thereafter.
2. Payment Terms
A 25% deposit is required to confirm and schedule work.
The remaining balance is due upon completion, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Payments can be made via BACS or card (card payments may incur processing fees).
Ownership of materials remains with Blackwater until full payment is received.
3. Scope of Work
Quotations apply only to the work and materials listed. Any additional requests or changes will be quoted separately.
4. Customer Responsibilities
Ensure clear access to the working area before installation. Furniture, fittings, or other obstructions must be removed unless otherwise agreed.
5. Scheduling & Lead Times
Start dates are provisional and confirmed only once the deposit is received. Timelines are subject to material availability and supplier lead times.
6. Workmanship Guarantee
Our installation work is guaranteed for 12 months. This excludes any damage caused by external factors, misuse, or non-Blackwater alterations.
Invoice Terms
1. Final Payment
Final invoices are due upon completion, unless alternative terms are agreed in writing.
Payments can be made via BACS or card (processing fees may apply). Invoices unpaid after 7 days are considered overdue.
2. Late Payment Policy
A £25 late fee will be charged on overdue invoices.
Interest may be applied at 8% above the Bank of England base rate in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Continued non-payment may result in paused work, cancelled warranties, or referral to debt recovery services (with associated fees passed to the client).
3. Communication
If you’re experiencing payment difficulty, please contact us early to discuss an alternative plan.
Note: Payments are not subject to VAT unless otherwise stated.
